  • To combat with dry skin drink plenty of water and use a moisturiser.

5. SPF: The Sun produces three types of ultraviolet rays which are invisible to our eyes: UVA, UVB, and UVC rays. UVC rays do not reach the Earth as the ozone layer absorbs it. UVA and UVB rays prematurely age and damage the skin and shoots up your risk of developing skin cancer.

SPF, stands for ‘sun protection factor’, indicates the amount of protection a product has against harmful UV rays. It block the UVB rays. The SPF scale is not linear:

  • Blocks 93% – SPF 30
  • Blocks 97% – SPF 30
  • Blocks 98% – SPF 50

So, we can conclude that SPF 30 sunscreen only gives you 4% more protection than SPF 15 sunscreen.
